Golf Pavilion
Location: Pinehurst, North Carolina
Size: 2600 sf
The clients wanted a location for players to meet up after rounds of golf to enjoy refreshments and the golf course view. Oriented to both capture the view and prevailing breezes, The golf pavilion was strategically sited at a location where several of the courses end and begin.
Nestled under the pines overlooking a famous par 3 golf course, the materials selected for the pavilion were inspired by the natural landscape and historical tobacco buildings found throughout the area.
The simple form, natural materials and low slung roof pay hommage to the local tobacco barns throughout the area while also helping the building blend into its natural landscape and not steal the show from the golf course.
The east facade of the building is rooted into the earth with a brick retaining landscape wall which extends out to become a fireplace for gathering.
